On the road to Provins
After some fine espresso in Reims following the completion of stage 4. Wow, what a crazy atmosphere! I've never seen so many people spectating cycling before! Rather than head strait to Montargis on the fast road we decided to take the same route the riders will follow for tomorrow's stage. It was such a better idea than the motorway. We stopped a few times along the way to photograph more old churches and the like. This is also some insight into what else happens on the route. Campers everywhere. Farmers along the route clear sections at the edge of the road for spectators to set-up for the night stay. It was around dinner time so many were out sitting around little fold-out picnic tables, bottles of wine and baguettes. Seems that is the main meal here at any time of the day.
We found our own camping spot on the hill amongst other campers on a similar journey.
