Bath, England - The Roman Baths

While in Bath we had to see how the town got it's name. Not that long ago while excavating for a modern project, the original Roman structure was discovered. Today the excavation continues underneath the existing town. Touring the baths occurs mostly underneath the street. The orginal baths were built here because of a natural hot spring which runs a few hundred feet down. If you want more info check out this site. It was amazing to be walking on ground that was shared with people from 2000 years ago. More info is available here with more detail on the history. I'm afraid the English Heritage site is more about visiting than the actual history.
