Adventures in Atlanta...

This was a blast, the longest 48hrs in my life. It all started on a Thursday night in Bogota, Colombia out late with my two brother-in-laws on my last night in the country. Then up at the crack of dawn to catch a 6AM flight. Get on the flight...stop over in Panama, buy some scotch duty free, land in Orlando around mid day. A few hours later five of us cram into Erin's Saab 95 and drive to Atlanta. We arrive at 2AM ish at this supposedly swank hotel. We check in, go to our room #420 (whoo hoo) only to find it occupied. We actually got into the room with our keys. So, Erin starts to head to the front desk to sort it out and finds three people coming back to their room VERY drunk. The woman with them is busting for a piss so decides to do it on the rug. Erin comes back to us freaking out then heads down to the desk to sort the room out and report what she saw to security. The rest of us are standing outside 420 and the drunk trio come to get in their room (420) and can't get in because their keys are deactivated and now we have the keys. We know what Erin just witnessed and now we don't know what to do. Meanwhile one of the trio has gone down to the desk. Now Erin and security are headed our way so we grab our stuff and make like shepards. Not a good mix to have all of us there having been in their room and now reporting them to security. So we get our new room (320) and it doesn't sleep 5. So now we spend an hour trying to convince the night manager that he needs to provide us with another bed, room, cot.. whatever because our booking was confirmed for 5 people. By now it's 3:30am. So I finally get the 5th bed, a single room in a funky corner, the smallest hotel room I have ever been in, might have been a broom closet the day before. The bed is literally at the door. I can reach the handle while laying down in bed. So I get to sleep with all the hallway noises in my ear until I wake up at 7. Luckily the company and the concert made it all worth it. Thanks Erin for dragging me along. It was worth all the strugglin'.
